SPB grew up with music from an early age as his father Sambamurthy was a wonderful musician who performed Harikatha Kalatsevam. Sambamurthy - Shakuntalamma couple gave birth to Sripathi Panditarathyula Balasubramaniam, our all-time favourite SP Balasubramaniam. They have a daughter Pallavi and a son SP Charan. SP Balasubramaniam's wife's name is Savitri. Many have expressed their condolences in tears after the news of his death broke. His demise has come as a shock to Indian cinema. He died today (September 25) at 1:04 pm without the benefit of intensive treatment by doctors. His condition worsened when his pre-existing lung infection suddenly increased. In the meantime, his health suddenly deteriorated again today. His health was clear enough to eat orally through the mouth. His health deteriorated in a few days and then returned to normal. On August 5, SPB was diagnosed with coronavirus and admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. SP Balasubramaniam is a leading singer in all languages like Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
